Bruce Ball retires from CPA Canada as Vice-President of Taxation

It is with mixed emotions that CPA Canada announces that Bruce Ball is retiring from his position of Vice-President of Taxation after a long and successful career in the profession. 

Bruce joined CPA Canada in September 2016 after a distinguished career at BDO Canada and several years of service as an active tax volunteer with CPA Canada. 

As a preeminent leader in tax, Bruce has dedicated his time and energy to strengthening CPA Canada’s relationship with the Canada Revenue Agency, the Department of Finance, and other key stakeholders. 

Most notably, Bruce worked closely with the CRA to navigate unprecedented challenges throughout the pandemic as a trusted partner and advisor. He became a strong and reliable voice for CPAs and the broader tax community by sharing member insights with the CRA and acting as a conduit of real-time information for those seeking clarity on pressing tax issues.

Bruce has also served the profession as a volunteer. His activities include acting as co-chair of the Joint Committee on Taxation with the Canadian Bar Association, and as a member of the CRA’s Action Task Force on Small Business Issues, the CPA Canada Tax Education Task Force, the CPA Canada Tax Courses Committee, and the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Board of Governors.
