Advocacy: Tax policy and administration

Through a landmark agreement signed in late 2014, the CPA profession and the Canada Revenue Agency work collaboratively to maintain a first-rate tax system.

Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) advocates for sound tax policy and effective tax administration.

Among other roles and activities, we:

  • provide valuable input on a wide range of tax issues
  • develop position papers
  • provide expert counsel on tax policy
  • liaise with the federal government and Finance Department on tax policy matters
  • are a trusted advisor to the Canada Revenue Agency on tax administration issues
