Q4 2020 CPA Canada Business Monitor release cancelled

Due to rapidly changing circumstances that may have made the data out of date, the usual accompanying news release was not issued to highlight the findings of the latest CPA Canada Business Monitor (Q4 2020).

Toronto, February 4, 2021 - The usual accompanying news release was not issued to highlight the findings of the latest CPA Canada Business Monitor (Q4 2020). The quarterly survey of CPAs in business leadership positions represents a snapshot in time and much has changed since the field work conducted between November 25 to December 11, 2020. Since then, there has been a considerable increase in COVID-19 case numbers, which sparked significant government measures aimed at reducing the pandemic’s spread. Because the business operating landscape has changed significantly, the views expressed by the survey participants in late 2020 may now be different.

That stated, the Q4 survey results do offer a glimpse of the viewpoints expressed by business leaders as 2020 was drawing to a close and those results are available at cpacanada.ca/BusinessMonitorQ42020.

Methodology

The CPA Canada Business Monitor is usually issued quarterly, based on a survey commissioned by CPA Canada and conducted by Nielsen. For a typical quarterly study, surveys are emailed to just over 4,000 people identified by CPA Canada as holding senior positions in industry (CFOs, CEOs, COOs and other leadership roles).
