CRA T1 e-services webinar – questions answered

CPA Canada’s webinar with the CRA on e-service improvements sparked lots of questions about ReFILE and how it compares to other adjustment options, online payments and more. Find out the answers.

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) officials offered some important updates for personal tax return preparers during CPA Canada’s webinar T1 e-service enhancements and e-modernization updates on March 7, 2017. Many people attending the webinar took the opportunity to send in questions on the topics covered.

Now, with answers from the CRA, you can find out more about the CRA’s new ReFILE service, which lets tax preparers amend their clients’ previously filed returns online. In response to questions, the CRA prepared a useful chart showing how ReFILE compares with Change my Return and paper-filed T1 Adjustment.

Other answers from the CRA cover:

  • the expanded range of documents eligible for EFILE and NETFILE
  • Express Notices of Assessment (NOA), which offer immediate results for electronically filed returns and NOAs in just one day
  • improvements to online mail, electronic payment options, CRA mobile apps and more

Listen to the webcast replay for more details about these topics.
