Katherine is an associate partner with EY Law LLP, based in Vancouver. Katherine has been practicing in the areas of indirect tax and global trade since 2000, having joined EY Law from a large national law firm in 2014. She advises clients on domestic and cross-border commodity tax planning and compliance matters including GST/HST, provincial sales tax and federal excise tax, and customs and global trade matters. Katherine has worked in both Vancouver and Toronto, where she has represented clients before the Canadian tax authorities in the context of GST/HST, PST and customs voluntary disclosures, audits, objections and adjudications. She has also represented clients in tax appeals, judicial review applications and tax-driven rectification applications at various levels of court, including the British Columbia and Ontario Superior Courts, the Tax Court of Canada, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Federal Courts of Canada. Katherine is a frequent speaker and writer and a co-author of Carswell’s Canadian Customs Law. Katherine received a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. She is called to the bars of B.C. and Ontario.
