James Saloman

Jim has been a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada since 1986. He is a CPA (Illinois) and FCPA, FCA (Ontario) and is one of the firm’s Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) consulting partners. Jim served as technical director of the International Accounting Standards Board in London from 1999 to 2002 and as chief accountant to the Ontario Securities Commission from 1994 to 1996. He has been involved in a number of major Ontario, Canadian, U.S. and international standards-setting, policy and other initiatives and activities and chaired the International Organization of Securities Commissions Accounting and Auditing Sub-committee.

Jim is currently a member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada)’s IFRS Discussion Group and the firm's Global Corporate Reporting Task Force. As an SEC consulting partner, Jim is part of the engagement team for a significant number of mining company clients. These range in size from very large to very small. He is also a member of PwC’s global IFRS Mining Industry group and participates in the PwC sponsored industry group which has provided input to the Emerging Issues Task Force on mining industry issues. Jim is a significant contributor to PwC’s Financial Reporting in the Mining Industry publication, a global publication on the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to the mining industry.
