Iain Macintosh

Iain is a partner at KPMG LLP based in Toronto, leading the Indirect Tax Process and Technology team. Iain specializes in tax function transformation with a specific interest in process and controls, and the deployment of tax technology solutions to support global indirect taxes. Iain has over 14 years’ experience in this field and is uniquely qualified in both IT and tax advisory. He has led major projects with a wide variety of domestic and international clients including leaders in the telecommunications, consumer electronics, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, oil & gas and mining industries. Prior to moving to Canada, Iain was a director in KPMG UK, based in London for 10 years, where he helped pioneer and develop the firm’s global approach in the areas of tax governance, compliance outsourcing and technology. In addition to consulting, Iain has also worked in the financial services and utilities industries. Iain has published a number of articles on managing tax performance and is a frequent presenter at industry and alliance partner events covering leading practice in indirect tax technology.
