Doron Barkai

Doron is a Partner in EY’s Transaction Tax practice with extensive experience in consulting on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings. He is the leader of the Canadian Sell-Side Transaction Tax practice.

Doron is one of the founding members of the Canadian Firm’s Transaction Tax practice and has a broad range of transaction-based experience, including due diligence and structuring on large cross-border and domestic transactions, as well as transactions in the private mid-market space, for private equity, sovereign wealth funds and strategic buyers. As part of his Sell-Side lead role, Doron provides value-driven seller-side advice to entrepreneurs and large corporate clients selling their businesses.

Doron has practiced exclusively in the tax field for 25 years and focused on transactions for over 20 years.

Doron is a lecturer and course co-ordinator at the CPA Canada In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations course and has led tutorial group studies at all levels of the CPA Canada in-depth tax courses. He is a speaker at numerous tax conferences and events, including the Canadian Tax Foundation Annual Conference.
