Brian Gabel

Brian joined the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB) in April 2014 as vice-president, Stakeholder Engagement. He is responsible for thought leadership and standards as well as for developing and implementing a strategic stakeholder communications and engagement plan to help enhance audit quality in Canada and internationally.

Prior to joining CPAB, Brian was vice-president and chief financial officer of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

Brian's executive career spans leadership roles in finance, regulatory affairs, sales and marketing, operations, mergers and acquisitions, human resources and organizational transformation in a number of energy and utility companies. He has extensive experience working with professional boards and a wide range of stakeholders.

Brian has chaired a number of national and international finance and research committees in the utility and transportation sectors, along with not-for-profit organizations.
