Andrew Newman

Andrew is a partner at KPMG and the leader of KPMG’s Public Sector Audit practice in Ottawa, which includes the provision of services to public sector audit clients, including hospitals, across Canada. Andrew has more than 20 years of experience performing financial statement, compliance and internal control audits, and providing advice on operations, control processes and financial reporting matters for public sector, education, healthcare and not-for-profit organizations.

Andrew recently completed a four-year term as the national leader of KPMG’s Canadian Education Practice (comprising universities, colleges and school boards), and as KPMG Canada’s representative on the Executive Committee to KPMG's Global Centre of Excellence for Education in London, U.K.

Andrew is a regular, featured speaker on public sector accounting and financial reporting at the national conferences of many organizations, including Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), Canadian Association of University Business Officers, Canadian University Boards Association and the Financial Management Institute (FMI).
