Sona has been a policy analyst in the Financial Education Unit of the OECD since 2017. In recent years, her work has focused on the activities of the OECD International Network on Financial Education – in particular, financial education in the workplace, as well as the implementation of the OECD Technical Assistance Project on Financial Education in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the OECD and European Commission (DG Reform) financial education projects.

Prior to that, Sona was a senior financial education specialist at the Central Bank of Armenia where she has been involved in financial education projects since 2007. Among other things, she coordinated the development and implementation of the National Strategy for Financial Education of the Republic of Armenia and its Action Plan (NSFE-Armenia) and the stakeholder management of the NSFE-Armenia Steering Committee.

Sona holds an MBA from the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University (France), and a master in economics from the French University (Armenia). She accomplished Public Policy and Public Administration at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University) in Boston (USA).
