John is one of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) champions at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton (RCGT). In this role he works with clients and staff helping and guiding them with respect to the IFRS transition. He is a delegate partner with 33 years’ experience in auditing, accounting, internal controls and consulting. and He is a member of RCGT’s certification team dealings with publicly-listed companies.
He has organized RCGT’s annual accounting and tax seminars for mining exploration companies and he has overseen the preparation of a set of model financial statements for model exploration companies. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) Mining Industry Task Force regarding application of IFRS to Canadian mining entities, where he has contributed principally to the sections related to exploration and evaluation assets and impairment of those assets.
