Jean-François Trépanier

Jean-François is responsible for leading the team supporting the three independent standard-setting boards. Passionate about professional standards, he recognizes their importance in maintaining trust in the capital markets and in public and private sector reporting. He was a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) from 2016 to 2021, and vice-chair from 2019 to 2021.

He brings 20 years of experience in auditing and accounting. Prior to joining CPA Canada, he was a partner at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton LLP, where he played leadership roles, including as national director of Professional Standards and as a member of Grant Thornton International (GTIL) Methodology and Learning Steering Committee.

Jean-François was awarded the CPA Award of Excellence – Research in 2015 by the Ordre des comptables professionnels agrées du Québec. He was president of the Montreal CPA group from 2012 to 2016.
