Timothy Chan
Timothy is a proven high performer and strategic management leader, having over 15 years of experience in the energy industry with a focus on integrated (upstream to downstream) energy, power generation, commodities trading and enterprise risk management.
He currently applies his managerial skills by leading internal audit projects at Suncor Energy Inc., an integrated energy company with Canada's largest oil sands position. Previously, he led teams of accountants in support of Suncor's supply and trading activities. He has also instructed at the University of Calgary, through the Haskayne School of Business, in the area of Financial Accounting.
Timothy continues to assist senior management accomplish the company's mission and vision through delivering human capital innovation. He created the SYNAPSE network at Suncor, which enriches employee experience through job sharing, professional networking and neural networking. In 2018, Timothy helped to found Untapped Energy, a data science startup for data practitioners in the energy industry, in the Calgary area.
He is wonderfully married with two young children, who are the unwitting subjects of his video production hobby.
