Sophie L’Hélias

Sophie L’Hélias is an international corporate governance expert with extensive experience in shareholder activism and investor campaigns in Europe, the United States and Canada.

She founded LeaderXXchange, a change-driven organization that advises and promotes diversity and sustainability in governance, leadership, and investment strategies. LeaderXXchange launched The Gender Diversity Exchange, an easy-to-use tool that shares usable information on gender leadership diversity within companies around the world.
 
Sophie currently serves as a non-executive director on the boards of directors of Kering, a global luxury group that includes Gucci and Balenciaga, Africa50, the investment fund of the African Development Bank, and the Echiquier Positive Impact fund.

Sophie is Senior Fellow at the Conference Board’s Governance Center in New York and a member of the Editorial Board of the Hawkamah Governance Institute in Dubai, a regional thought leadership organization on governance matters. She is co-founder of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) and was an advisor to the UN Global Compact’s Blueprint for SDG Leadership.

Sophie holds an MBA from INSEAD, an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a Masters of Laws from the University of Pantheon-Sorbonne, and after studies at the European Law Institute of the University of Saarbrücken in Germany.
