Robert Palombi

B.Sc

Robert is managing director and office head for Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services in Canada. He is based in Toronto. In this role, Rob has general leadership and management responsibilities focused on building relationships with financial market participants in Canada.

Rob joined Standard & Poor’s (S&P) in 1991 as a fixed-income analyst in the capital markets division (MMS International). In addition to fixed-income analytics, he had oversight responsibility for coverage of foreign-exchange markets, monetary and fiscal policy, and the Canadian political scene. Before joining S&P, he held positions at CIBC Wood Gundy.

Rob also has outreach responsibilities for developing relationships with investors and intermediaries, as well as overseeing a communications program to help facilitate a broad understanding of S&P. In this arena, Rob has been involved in raising awareness of S&P’s new efforts to strengthen the ratings process and in the development of educational resources such as Standard & Poor’s Guide to Ratings Performance.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in economics and quantitative methods from the University of Toronto.
