Paul Goodyear

Paul is the financial secretary for The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda. In this role, he is the Army’s chief financial officer, with responsibility for oversight of all corporate finance functions, including accounting and financial reporting, pension and investment management, fiscal strategy and policy. In addition, he serves as corporate secretary of The Governing Council of The Salvation Army in Canada, the Army’s principal legal entity. The Salvation Army in Canada is the largest non-government provider of social services with annual revenues of $700 million and assets of $1.7 billion.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration from Trinity Western University. He is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) and Fellow Certified Management Accountant (FCMA).

Paul is a member of the board of trustees of a small rehabilitation hospital and a director of a non-profit housing corporation. He is a former member of the Accounting Standards Board and Accounting Standards Oversight Council, and a former chair of the Not-for-profit Advisory Committee to the Accounting Standards Board.

Married with three adult daughters, he has two young grandchildren who are at the centre of his universe. When time permits, he is an amateur genealogist and an avid reader.
