Michele Wood-Tweel

FCPA, FCA

Michele has more than 30 years of experience in the accounting profession, and she is vice-president, regulatory affairs at CPA Canada. She serves as secretariat to the CPA profession’s public trust committee, which oversees the ethics standards and self-regulatory processes of the profession. In this capacity, Michele supports the CPA profession’s development and maintenance of common regulatory structures and processes, helping to ensure that they are at least as robust as international standards in appropriate areas of regulation for all provincial and territorial CPA bodies.

Always active in the community, Michele has served on many boards, and is currently chair of the board of governors of Sacred Heart School of Halifax. She also serves on the board of directors of EfficiencyOne. Michele is a past chair of the board of governors of Saint Mary’s University and she was recognized with a doctor of civil law, honoris causa in 2015.
