Michael J. Epp

Mike has been the chief operating officer at the Vancouver-based College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC since October 2007. Previously, he spent 15 years at the BC Medical Association (now Doctors of BC), the last five of them as director of policy and planning. Prior to moving to B.C., Mike worked for the ministries of health (hospital services branch) and finance (treasury board) in Saskatchewan.

Mike has a BA in economics and a Bachelor of Commerce (health administration) from the University of Saskatchewan (1991), and earned his Master’s degree in business administration (public policy) from Simon Fraser University in 1997.

He currently participates on the following: Federation of Medical Licensing Authorities of Canada risk management committee and the Alberta, BC and Ontario eHealth Committee. He is also a member of the Mackay CEO Forum in Vancouver and president of the Hotel Georgia commercial strata council. Mike was also a member of the BC data stewardship committee from 2009 to 2016. He is a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
