Matina Waarbroek

Matina (Mattie) presently serves as project lead for the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s 219 Laurier Project, a partial demolition and retro-fit to accommodate Secretariat personnel in a Workplace 2.0 environment. She joined the Secretariat from the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), where she held various positions in corporate and operational areas and was manager responsible for internal security policy development and implementation during CSE’s transition to Workplace 2.0. Mattie brings nearly two decades of experience in strategic and organizational policy development and project management gained across the public and private sectors, and is a former executive secretary of the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies. Mattie holds a BA in political science and an MA in security studies, for which she completed a practicum at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
