Maryse Janelle

Maryse supervises detailed tax review assignments and the implementation of corporate commodity tax processes and control systems. She has contributed to the development of commodity tax products and tools.

In her regular commodity tax practice, she is involved particularly with interprovincial and international issues, including: Canadian sales tax (financial services, import/export); U.S. sales and use tax; and value-added tax (VAT) applicable in Europe and elsewhere. Her practice includes representing international clients with manufacturing or entertainment industry activities. More recently, she has been involved with Catallaxy, a RCGT’s initiative in respect of the ecosystem.

Her practice includes representing international clients with manufacturing or entertainment industry activities. She also participates in making representations with respect to refund applications or in the tax audit process to resolve clients’ problems favourably.

As a member of the Commodity Tax, Customs and Trade Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Maryse is regularly involved in consultations with Finance Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency.

Maryse is frequently invited by various professional associations to serve as a guest speaker, author or instructor.
