Mark Banbury

Mark is the Chief Information & Constituent Services Officer for Heart & Stroke, where he oversees information technology, facilities and operations across the charities’ Canadian operations.  
Prior to joining Heart & Stroke, Mr. Banbury spent four and half years as the Global Chief Information Officer, Director of Shared Services for the UK based Plan International where he oversaw  IT operations in over 50 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas.  During his time at Plan International, he also oversaw the Global Human Resources team and the Global Communication team during periods of leadership transitions.

Mark's career has also included his time as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Plan Canada, and as the Director of Information Systems and New Media at SickKids Foundation.  He spent 10 years in the educational sector as an associate professor for his alma mater, Ryerson University where he holds a BA in Radio and Television Arts (with honours).

Mark has held board positons on the E-Philanthropy Foundation (Board Director) and NetHope (Board Director, Vice Chair, Chair of Nominations and Governance).   He is a member of an exclusive group of NetHope Fellows which recognizes his contribution to the internal NGO sector. An often quoted speaker and presenter at vendor technology conferences, Mark lives in Oakville, Ontario with his wife and daughter.
