Joseph Leuwer

Joseph is the chief information officer of Firma Foreign Exchange Corporation, which is headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. The majority of his forty-year career has been spent in the information technology consulting sector, providing management and advisory services in a range of industry sectors including healthcare, energy, and government. His financial services experience includes serving in executive roles with ATB Financial. Joseph has contributed in various ways to complex transformational projects, ranging from board-level advisory and assessment roles to hands-on strategy development and program management.

Joseph is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and received his executive education at Queen's University. For the past two decades Joe has served as an industry advisor at NAIT, and has chaired the program advisory committee for the Digital Media and Information Technology program.

Joseph continues to be an active leader in the community and professional organizations to which he belongs. He has served on the executive committees of the Canadian Information Processing Society and ANHIX, Alberta's healthcare informatics society. Joseph is a member of the CIO Association of Canada and the Institute of Corporate Directors. In recent years his volunteer work has been oriented towards addressing social justice needs in Edmonton and abroad.
