Jennifer Muirhead

Jennifer has been practising in the area of indirect tax for more than 17 years. She assists clients in all areas of indirect taxes, including provincial sales taxes (PST), where she advises on the appropriate application of tax, exemptions, refunds, and compliance and filing obligations.

Jennifer started her career in Ontario working with the old Retail Sales Tax and moved to B.C. as the new PST was being implemented. In 2017, she moved to Calgary, where she continues to advise clients with operations in B.C., Saskatchewan and Manitoba, giving her more than 15 years of working every day with clients on PST matters.

She has experience dealing with unique indirect tax matters across a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, software, real property, oil and gas, and public sector entities. Jennifer also provides dispute resolution services to help her clients prepare for audits, build effective and respectful relationships with tax authorities, and analyze the methodologies and technical merits of proposed and final assessments. In addition, she offers assistance with the appeals process.
