JB Congy

JB is a member of Ernst & Young LLP’s Indirect Tax practice and is based in Montreal.  JB has been working with businesses in an advisory capacity for over 15 years.

In addition to his Canadian indirect tax experience (GST/HST and QST/PST), JB has over 10 years of experience in EU Value Added Tax (VAT), also specializing in U.S. sales and use tax.

JB participates regularly in the APFF/CICA’s symposiums and annual EU VAT summits/forums. He’s of the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) since 2009.

JB studied tax and business law at Paris – Pantheon Assas (II) University and obtained a graduate diploma and Master degree in taxation from Paris II University and the University of Poitiers (France). Having initially trained as a lawyer, JB was admitted to the Barr of Hauts-de-Seine (West Paris /France) in 2005.
