Deepak Upadhya

As vice president, risk advisory, Deepak assists companies with emerging technology risk including Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, as well as overall IT risk, controls, and governance.

As a member of RSM’s blockchain and cryptocurrency practice, Deepak has serval whitepapers on the use of blockchain and digital currency, and is currently advising a Canadian stock exchange on a digital currency and token exchange.

Deepak pairs his sound business judgment with the ability to prioritize amongst conflicting business and technical needs. He is sought after for his ability to communicate and present information to non-technical audience as well as capturing and expressing reasoning behind recommendations.

Prior to joining RSM Canada, Deepak was the chief information officer for a public sector entity. He has also held a position as service leader for IT governance for a large national professional services firm. Deepak has also international experience having served as an IT director for a large international corporation operating in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Deepak has a master of science in computer science, is a certified blockchain professional, and has a depth of experience with various industry standards and frameworks including NIST, COSO, COBIT, ITIL, ISO and Six Sigma.
