David Douglas

David is a principal and Canadian practice leader for Ryan Canada ULC.  David leads the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (“SR&ED”) and Government Incentives Groups at Ryan. David has a well developed knowledge of the Canadian SR&ED program and has extensive experience across a wide range of industries.  He has managed many large multi-divisional and multi-country claims and in addition works with private owner managed technology start-up companies to maximize the benefits from the program. In addition, Mr. Douglas has significant experience working with Canada Revenue Agency to resolve complex SR&ED tax issues. Mr. Douglas is a frequent speaker and writer on the SR& ED program, and regularly conducts SR & ED workshops with his clients to provide them with current and relevant information regarding the program. In addition, Mr. Douglas has a broad range of financial advisory experience in the corporate sector including corporate tax, restructuring advisory, litigation support, business valuations, mergers and acquisitions and financial due diligence. Mr. Douglas is a CA, CPA, earned an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and a Graduate Diploma in Taxation from the University of Waterloo.
