Darren Gee

Darren joined Peyto in 2001 as the VP engineering and succeeded Don Gray as president and CEO on January 1, 2007. He received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 1989 from the University of Alberta and worked as a professional engineer for Petro Canada, Anderson Exploration, Renaissance Energy and Husky in the past in various reservoir and exploitation engineering roles.

Over the past 14 years, Darren has helped lead Peyto's growth from a small junior producer of 2,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day (boe/d) to an industry leading intermediate producer of 90,000 boe/d.

In 2012, he was honoured by Alberta Oil magazine as CEO of the Year and in 2013 Peyto was honoured by Oilweek magazine as Producer of the Year.
