Daniel M. Hlavacek

Dan is a partner in BDO’s assurance and accounting practice. He has experience in public accounting, providing audits, financial statement reviews and advisory services for international and domestic organizations. He has extensive experience working with Canadian private companies that have various subsidiaries to manage their operations and different aspects of their business. Dan’s diverse international experience includes working in the U.S. and in Prague, Czech Republic with U.S. multinational publicly listed and private enterprises in various industries.

Dan is BDO’s manufacturing and distribution industry team leader in the Greater Toronto Area, which encompasses four of its largest offices in Canada. This industry team is instrumental in proactively sharing knowledge internally and externally through events and thought leadership, ensuring that clients are well-informed about industry issues and new accounting standards.

Dan has served a number of Canadian private and publicly listed companies and U.S. companies located in Canada, leveraging his experience with U.S. GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE). He’s a member of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association (CME) and past vice-president of the Art Gallery of Mississauga.
