Chauna is a Chartered Professional Accountant in Alberta and the first Inuit Chartered Accountant in Canada. She holds a Commerce degree and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She also holds a Certified Internal Auditor designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Chauna has spent 15+ years of her career in financial and managerial positions in the private and public sector, as well as the Federal and provincial governments. For the last five years, she has been involved with disaster recovery in the Province of Alberta, most notably the First Nations Housing Project which involves working with the communities as they rebuild their homes from the devastation of the 2013 southern Alberta floods.
