Carol Chiang

Carol is the leader of KPMG’s Not-for-Profit audit practice in Greater Vancouver with extensive experience in servicing not-for-profit and charity sector organizations.

Carol is a member of KPMG National Not-for-Profit ("NPO") network and brings over 28 years of experience with KPMG. She is the leader of KPMG’s GVA NPO practice and serves as the engagement partner and quality review partner for many of KPMG’s NPO and charity clients across an array of sectors including foundations, arts and culture, social services, health, and education. As a senior member of KPMG’s Not-for-Profit and Public Sector national network, Carol is actively involved in ensuring consistency in auditing across KPMG’s not-for-profit clients and has a track record of bringing latest thought leadership, practical insights in financial reporting and topical matters in the sector to her clients.

Carol has developed and taught courses on not-for-profit accounting standards, is actively involved in ensuring consistency in auditing across KPMG’s various not-for-profit organization clients and in providing technical guidance on the application of the not-for-profit standards. Carol has also, as part of professional development and contribution to the sector, been involved with Chartered Professional Accountants discussion forums on emerging standards.

In addition to her client responsibilities, Carol has been in charge of the people management program for our Burnaby location and is actively involved in KPMG’s Community Leadership and Diversity strategies. Carol has served as a director and volunteer on a number of organizations and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women’s and chairs their Finance Committee.
