Carla-Marie Hait

As chief accountant of the B.C. Securities Commission, Carla-Marie provides accounting advisory services to all divisions of the Commission. She participates in the development of legislation and policy. Past projects have included new national rules and guidance for forward looking information and CEO and CFO certifications. She has also worked on a CSA project to assess the need for, and develop changes to, securities legislation necessitated by the changeover to IFRS in Canada. Carla-Marie also reviews financial reporting issues that arise in issuers' filings for public offerings and continuous disclosure. She liaises with professional accounting bodies and communicates with issuers and their advisors in matters related to financial reporting requirements. Prior to assuming her current position at the B.C. Securities Commission, Carla-Marie worked at KPMG in their Vancouver and Ottawa offices. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.
