Caren Lombard

Caren is a lecturer at UBC’s Sauder School of Business. She is a CPA and CFA and has worked in post-secondary education in Canada since 2012. Caren has a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) credential from IFRS Foundation and she is part of the 2023 cohort of the Accounting4Sustainability Academy. She developed a new course for the business school – Climate-focused ESG reporting and analysis. 

Prior to post-secondary education, Caren spent 15 years working in industry in South Africa and Canada. At the Business Development Bank of Canada and Export Development Canada, her focus was on providing entrepreneurs with mezzanine and growth capital financing. Caren started her career at Deloitte in South Africa and moved to Canada in 2000. Caren received the 2022/2023 Teaching Excellence Award from the UBC Commerce Undergraduate Society.
