Betty Soares

Ms. Soares currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer for Blockchain Power Trust. Raising $43M in January 2018, Blockchain Power Trust owns and generates green energy from renewable resources and currently uses clean energy to operate its crypto currency operations. 

Ms. Soares is formerly Chief Financial Officer for Argo Gold Inc. and Chief Accounting Officer for Yamana Gold Inc. 

Recently entering the blockchain and crypto currency space , Ms. Soares can speak to the operational, financial and accounting risks and challenges of crypto currency and brings over 15 years of experience in accounting, financing and business planning.  She has been involved in various aspects of M&A, financings, restructuring and transformation projects.  Her career demonstrates a capacity for executing major projects while managing a dynamic growing business. 

She also serves on the Board of Directors of the North York Women’s Shelter and is an active member of Financial Executives International (FEI) Canada.
