Richard Taylor

Richard is currently senior director, Commodity Tax, at Rogers Communications Inc. in Toronto, where he has encountered many tax litigation issues over the last 11 years. In the course of his career, Richard has been employed in various tax and legal capacities within the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), a “Big 4” CPA firm and tax departments of two large companies. He first earned an LLB from McGill University and shortly after was called to the Quebec Bar. He then received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, with a major in accounting. Richard is the past chair of the Tax Executive Institute’s Commodity Tax Liaison Committee, which is responsible for promoting the tax interests of its members within CRA, Finance Canada and other tax authorities.
