Emily Yung

Emily Yung is the Director, Finance & Systems at Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver (Big Brothers), an organization that serves over 1,200 children annually, matching them with adult role models that help them achieve their greatest possible futures.  Skilled in Finance, Accounting, and Tax, Emily leads the Finance Department of three registered charities, including the Big Brother Clothing Donation social enterprise, which grosses approximately $5M in revenues annually to fund Big Brothers’ mentorship programs.

Emily’s passion for the Not-For-Profit sector started in high school when she joined a humanitarian trip to Mexico. She witnessed the great impact a charitable organization could have on our global communities, and was determined to pursue a career that would make a difference.  With a belief that strong business acumen is critical in the Not-For-Profit world, Emily began her professional journey at KPMG, where she obtained the CPA, CA designation and specialized in both audit and tax. After 6 years in public practice, and 1 year working at a publicly listed real estate company, Emily joined the Big Brothers finance team in 2017.

Outside of work, you can find Emily playing in the Vancouver Ultimate League, and volunteering as a Youth Group leader in her local community.
