Newfoundland and Labrador CGAs enter merger discussions

CGA Newfoundland and Labrador joins the CA and CMA organizations in the province in exploratory unification talks.

On November 2, 2011, the leadership of the Certified General Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (CGA Newfoundland and Labrador) advised its members that it is entering into the ongoing merger discussions with the organization’s provincial CA and CMA counterparts to explore the merits and feasibility of uniting the Canadian accounting profession.

CGA Newfoundland and Labrador, in joining the dialogue, has expressed its agreement with the eight guiding principles developed jointly by the CAs and CMAs and outlined in the position paper released in May.
