CPA legislation proclaimed in British Columbia

Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) has been officially established through legislation as of June 24, 2015.

A TIME TO CELEBRATE

On June 24, 2015, the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) was established with the proclamation of the Chartered Professional Accountants Act by the government of British Columbia. Members in B.C. have been voluntarily using the CPA designation in conjunction with their legacy designation since 2013.

CPABC is now one of the largest professional organizations in the province of British Columbia, with more than 38,000 members and students.

Status of unification across Canada

All 40 accounting bodies in Canada have either unified or are participating in discussions to unite under the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) banner.
