CGA-Yukon member survey shows strong support for merger

CGA-Yukon issues results of member survey.

A survey of the Certified General Accountants Association of the Yukon’s 30 members has found that an overwhelming 93.8% per cent of respondents support merging under the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Some 53.3 per cent of Yukon CGAs responded to the survey which was held between June 5 and 17.

In separate votes, members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Certified Management Accountants of the Yukon have also supported unification.

CGA-Yukon President Robert Fendrick, FCGA, says that their next major milestone is completing a three-way Yukon merger agreement: “It means going through a due diligence process and aligning on a draft merger agreement,” Mr. Fendrick said. In addition, CGA-Yukon will be holding a merger town hall for its members and students on July 30, 2013.
