CPA Canada is the national organization representing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) profession in Canada. The Opportunity As a senior translator at CPA Canada, you will be part of a high-calibre team with a strong focus on quality and professionalism. You will use your writing skills and knowledge in accounting and business to translate and revise material intended mainly for CPAs. In this role, responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to the following: Revise, from English to French, technical documents of a financial nature (financial reporting, audit and assurance, taxation, management, finance, etc.) Participate in the training of translators by commenting your revisions and providing tips and advice Occasionally translate pieces of work Use all tools available for the effective processing of translation projects (FlowFit project management system, Logiterm translation memory database and Microsoft Office suite) Collaborate with internal clients and other members of Language Services to produce translations that meet the needs of our members The Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: Bachelor of Arts in Translation or equivalent degree At least ten years of experience in translation from English to French in a supervised setting, mainly in the accounting and business fields, including five years as a senior translator Fully bi-lingual, French and English Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Experience using translation assistance and project management software Strong intellectual curiosity, adaptability, ability to quickly understand and integrate new concepts and knowledge Customer service focus Preferred: Studies in accounting or administration Certified translator, OTTIAQ or other recognized professional translator association Other matters This position is based in Montreal, Quebec.
