The Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, the Director, Information Technology is responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight for the Information Technology function CPA Canada. In this role, you will be part of a unique and exciting opportunity to transform the strategic business roadmap, playing a pivotal leadership role in the Digital Transformation and Optimization at CPA Canada. As the leader of Information Technology function, you will champion a high-performance and constructive culture, leading and guiding change to ensure CPA Canada is the pre-eminent, globally respected business and accounting designation for the future. Strategy and Planning Set the mission and vision of the IT organization to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset. In conjunction with Executive leadership, develop the digital strategy and roadmap; ensuring its integration with the business strategy and plans. Foster innovation within the organization to create new solutions that enable business results and to improve effectiveness of IT service delivery both internally and to the business stakeholders. Direct the successful delivery of large, multi-phased projects using effective and process system delivery processes and management tools. Act as a trusted advisor, build and maintain relationships with business unit leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and be able to respond with agility to changing business priorities. Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including architecture management, application management, data governance, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management. Develop the IT Strategic Operational Pan and related KPIs for IT and ensure it is consistent with overall strategic objectives. Understand and interact with related stakeholders to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems and services, including privacy, risk management, compliance and disaster recovery. Actively participate as a member of the Director team working to deliver on integrated plans and inform corporate strategy and related operational plans. Operations Deliver information technology projects within established project constraints (on-time, on-budget, within scope, high quality). Proactively evaluate solution delivery partnerships with 3rd party providers, manage vendor relationships and ensure vendor performance within the solution delivery model. Develop effective working relationship with business partners by defining, maintaining, and by delivering upon Service Level Objectives to enhance the visibility and value contribution of the Information Technology group within the organization. Understand the business model, business needs and opportunities for optimization. Leading Teams Manage and lead local and remote Information Technology teams (40 individuals), including hiring, coaching and effectively managing individual and team performance to meet and exceed on goals and objectives. Optimize team efficiency and service delivery within the organization and to stakeholders, with a view on Information Technology program and service delivery for the future. Create a constructive, high performing and innovative culture within the IT team. Experience and Education At least 15 years in progressive technology-related hands-on and leadership roles combined with a University degree in a related discipline i.e. Computer science, Engineering, Mathematics. Senior level experience leading teams that implemented/maintained BI, CRM, E-Commerce, LMS and other similar applications in a Microsoft environment. Proven experience aligning Technology with business objectives, driving business success through delivering timely and efficient technology solutions. Experience coaching and mentoring high-performing teams of technology professionals. Experience leading cross-functional teams and/or enterprise wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across complex contexts. Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, organization design and development. Demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments. Demonstrated ability to drive change through communication, leadership, and influencing skills. Excellent leadership and change management skills. Previous experience in a Not-for-Profit or Association environment an asset. Bilingualism is considered as asset. Other matters This position is based in Toronto.
