Job description

The Language Services Department of CPA Canada, the national body representing more than 200,000 chartered professional accountants working across Canada and abroad, is looking for an administrative assistant whose duties will be divided between posting French content on the organization’s websites and providing administrative support.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Build and update the French webpages of CPA Canada’s various sites using the Sitecore content management system (CMS), i.e.:
    • Manage, format and download (to the CMS) content from Word documents
    • Create hyperlinks
    • Post images and videos
    • Use HTML coding
    • Perform a detailed comparison of the content of the French and English pages before posting to catch errors
    • Using Siteimprove reports, make corrections to ensure optimized referencing (missing Alt texts for images, broken links and HTML coding errors)
  • Occasionally coordinate client web queries
  • Efficiently perform the full range of word processing tasks, from typing to formatting complex Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents
  • Create and convert PDF files using Adobe Pro
  • Effectively use Outlook and FlowFit (translation project management system)
  • Clean up Word, Excel and PowerPoint files for indexing in LogiTerm (translation memory system)
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed, e.g. welcome visitors at reception
  • Occasionally process highly confidential documents

Required skills

  • Fluency in French (oral and written) and sound knowledge of English (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Knowledge (even basic) of content management systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of the Adobe CC suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)
  • Comfortable with IT tools
  • Ability to adapt and quickly learn new tools and follow new procedures
  • Autonomy, attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
