Administrative Assistant, Precertification Education

CPA Canada is seeking to add a key position to our Precertification Education department.

CPA Canada is the national organization representing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) profession in Canada.

The Opportunity

The Precertification Education group develops and maintains the curricula of two distinct programs for the CPA Profession: the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) and the CPA Canada Preparatory Program (PREP).

Reporting to the Vice-president, Precertification Education, the duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide assistance in conference registrations and travel arrangements for staff, including booking flights, hotels and car rentals
  • Support the review of staff expense reports and vendor invoices
  • Support the contract process ensuring all procedures are complete and accurate; renewals are done in a timely manner
  • Book meetings and set up for committee meetings which includes:
    • sending doodle polls for schedule of meeting
    • making necessary arrangements- venue, food or others, such as technology requirements
    • processing expense reports for meeting attendees 
  • Support and nurture the relationships with the volunteers
  • Assist in the preparation of meeting packages and take minutes, where necessary
  • Assist in updating records in SharePoint
  • Perform other general office duties as required

The Candidate

The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Post-secondary university degree in Business or equivalent experience and education
  • 2 to 3 years of administrative experience
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with superior verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and proactively after taking on an assignment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Excellent proofreading ability with a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrate CPA Canada values
  • Full fluency in English is required
