Administrative Assistant to the President and CEO

CPA Canada is seeking to add a key position to our Executive Office department.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer of CPA Canada, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support in organizing meetings, calendar appointments and all travel requirements established by the President and CEO.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize, maintain and schedule meetings and appointments, effectively and efficiently managing all calendar requirements;
  • Answer and direct communications via phone, email or other;
  • Plan, organize and prepare travel arrangements;
  • Submit and reconcile expense reporting relating to travel and business expenses;
  • Liaise with other CPA Canada team members and external stakeholders with respect to planning meetings, maintaining contact lists and ongoing action items;
  • General clerical duties including preparation of routine materials, filing and retrieving documentation;
  • Initiate, respond to and follow-up on routine inquiries;
  • Ad-hoc requests and projects as required and requested.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle/communicate confidential information with utmost discretion, tact and diplomacy;
  • Strong project management, analytical skill, sound judgement and problem-solving ability;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups in fast-paced environment;
  • Highly proactive and exceptional organization skills;
  • Demonstrated capacity to function effectively in a sensitive work environment;
  • Embraces technology and savvy in its use; fully proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products;
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset. 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing administrative support to a senior executive in a fast-paced, high demand professional environment highly desirable and preferred;
  • Post-secondary studies in business administration, finance or administration related discipline preferred.
