As vice-chair of the CPA Canada Board of Directors, Richard Olfert helps CPA Canada achieve its key objectives, and provides direction for the governance and management of the organization.

Biography

Richard is the vice-chair of the CPA Canada Board of Directors, joining the board in September 2019.

He brings 30 years of world-class financial insight to companies across Canada in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Richard is part of Deloitte Canada’s national executive team, currently serving as the firm’s chief risk officer, and formerly as managing partner of the Canadian Audit business. He also provides strategic direction to the firm in the areas of audit quality and regulatory. He has been elected twice to Deloitte Canada’s Board of Directors, serving as chair of the board’s Finance Committee during both terms.

Richard has contributed many years of his professional life to the governance of the profession as a longstanding volunteer on behalf of CPA Manitoba, having chaired CPA education-related organizations nationally and in western Canada.
