Biography

Though she joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in 2016, Nancy was previously involved with the accounting profession when she served as a public director of Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) from 1998 to 2004. At CICA she served on the Public Interest and Integrity Committee, and prior to that, served as a public representative on the board of the Saskatchewan Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Today, Nancy is a partner at McDougall Gauley LLP, a Saskatchewan-based law firm, where she practices business law, with an emphasis on corporate governance, taxation law, IT law, mergers and acquisitions. Nancy has led McDougall Gauley LLP teams on numerous mergers and acquisitions, acting for vendors, purchasers or the corporation being acquired.

In addition to serving on the CPA Canada board, Nancy serves as board director with the following organizations:

  • GrowthWorks Commercialization Fund Ltd.
  • The Arthritis Society
  • Canada West Foundation

In December 2014, Nancy received an award from Women's Executive Network (WXN) for its 2013 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards in the Corporate Directors category.>
