Michael joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2013.

He is the vice-president, investment advisor and financial planner at BMO Nesbitt Burns. Prior to his employment with BMO (1991-present), Michael was an investment advisor at Yorkton Securities Ltd., (1987-1990).

Since 1984, Michael has been involved as a member or chair of several boards and committees. The most recent include: chair of the Board of Governors of CMA Ontario (2009-2010), vice-chair of CMA Canada’s council of chairs (2009-2010), and member of the CMA Canada National Board of Directors (2011-present). Currently, he is a member of CPA Canada’s Education and Qualification Advisory Committee, and the Financial Planning Foundation’s Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee.

Michael teaches and writes articles on investment strategies and financial, retirement and estate planning. He is a recognized expert in the areas of financial and life planning, and lectures extensively in Canada and around the world on these topics.
