Biography
Marilyn joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in December 2014.
She is a retired partner of BDO Canada (Calgary). Marilyn has more than 30 years of experience, with more than 20 years exclusively in public practice. As a senior member of BDO’s public company audit group, she provided expertise to publicly traded companies in the energy and natural resource, financial and technology sectors.
Marilyn was a member of BDO’s public company steering committee responsible for providing leadership to the firm’s public company audit group. She was also a member of the firm’s natural resources group. Marilyn has presented on financial reporting matters at various oil and gas conferences and other events.
Marilyn is a former member of the Governing Council for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (ICAA) (2008-2013) and a past president (2012-2013).
Past committee involvement included participating on the ICAA Complaints and Enquiry, Rules and By-laws, Audit, Nomination and Executive Committees. Marilyn was also a member of the Assurance Services Development Board and the Differential Reporting Committee for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
