Biography

Douglas joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in January 2013.

He is the senior vice-president and chief internal auditor for The Great-West Life Assurance Company (2001-present). Previous management positions include: chief financial officer at the Burrows Lumber Group of Companies (1993-2001) and senior audit supervisor for Scarrow & Donald, Chartered Accountants (1990-1993).

Committed to both the community and his profession, Douglas has served on the following boards and committees:

  • Board of Directors, Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, serving as president and chair from 2010-2011
  • Committee on Financial Reporting, Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association
  • Board of Directors, Faith Lutheran Church, and its foundation
In addition to his role on the CPA Canada board, he is also a member of the audit committee and the Board of Directors for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
