Dorothy Rice, CPA Canada board member

As a member of the CPA Canada Board of Directors, Dorothy Rice helps CPA Canada achieve our key objectives, and provides direction for governance and management.

Education and qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce and Economics, Mount Allison University, 1979
  • Certified Management Accountant, 1983
  • Fellow of The Society of Management Accountants of Canada, 2005

Biography

Dorothy joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in January 2013.

She is currently the director of electoral finance at Elections Nova Scotia. Dorothy’s extensive business background includes considerable experience in industry and the provincial government. 

Since earning her CMA designation, Dorothy has been an active member in the CMA and CPA organizations, serving on various regional, provincial and national committees and boards, including her current membership on the:

  • CMA Canada National Board of Directors
  • CMA Competency Development Committee
  • CPA Nominating and Governance Committee

In addition, she has previously served on the National FCMA Committee and the CPA Education and Qualifications Advisory Committee. Dorothy has also been a moderator for the CMA Strategic Leadership Program in Nova Scotia and the Atlantic Executive program in Atlantic Canada and the Caribbean.
